Behind the Pour: A Look Inside Our Huntington Beach Candle Studio
Every candle you light from Pacific Candle Co. starts in the same place: a small studio in Huntington Beach, California, where founder Halie Molino set out to prove that elevated coastal living shouldn’t be limited to homes with an ocean view.
Where It Started
Pacific Candle Co. was born from a simple belief — fragrance is an extension of you and your home. Halie built the brand around Southern California’s particular kind of luxury: unfussy, sun-warmed, and rooted in quality over excess. It’s less about grandeur and more about the feeling of a well-tended home.
The Hand-Poured Process
Every candle is poured by hand, in small batches, using 100% soy wax. That choice comes with tradeoffs — it’s slower and less scalable than automated production — but it means every candle that leaves the studio has actually been touched by someone who cares whether it turns out right.
What Doesn’t Make the Cut
Our entire collection is vegan, cruelty-free, and phthalate-free, which means certain fragrance oils and additives that would make production faster or scent throw stronger are simply off the table. It’s a stricter standard, but it’s the one we hold ourselves to.
Come See It Yourself
If you’re local (or planning a trip to Southern California), you can experience the process firsthand at one of our Candle Making Workshops. These hands-on classes walk you through pouring your own candle from start to finish — part craft lesson, part behind-the-scenes look at what we do every day. We also regularly show up at local pop-up markets around Huntington Beach; check our Events page for upcoming dates.
Why We Share This
We think knowing where something comes from changes how you experience it. The next time you light a Pacific Candle Company candle, we hope it feels a little more like it was made for you — because in a very real sense, it was.
